On January 15, 2000, Mark Evanier shared the sad news that cartoonist Pat Boyette passed away.

One of comics' true gentlemen, Pat Boyette died last night. Pat had been ill for some time, deteriorating especially after the death of his wife a few years ago. The last time I spoke to him, which was about three weeks ago, he seemed resigned to the inevitable.

This New Year has given me the chance to play a lot of new and recent releases for the XBOX 360 system. It's been a wild ride of killers, wannabe guitar heroes, crime solving, balloon popping and more, as I take Guitar Hero Van Halen, Tekken 6, C.S.I. Deadly Intent, Assassin's Creed II and Up through the paces with my controller firmly in hand.

It's no secret that Marv Wolfman and George Perez' version of the New Teen Titans is my favorite comic book series of all time. But, since their run, it feels as if no one has really come close to capturing the magic those two creators had on the series. So, maybe DC Comics needs to look outside the realm of comics to bring some fervor to these classic heroes again! Today, I'm presenting my Top Five Non Comics People I'd Like To See Write Teen Titans.

It's the Tuesday after Christmas and all through the house ... people are having a great time with the presents each one of them got. OK, so I'm no poet, but today's Top Five is different. Out of all the things you got for the Holiday Season, I'd like you to list your Top Five ....

The holidays are almost upon us and we at THE PULSE will be taking a break and spending some time with our family and friends. But, before vacation starts and the sugar rush sets in, I'm sharing my list of Top Five Marvel Comics Christmas Stories. I hope you'll agree with a few of these, and would love to see your choices as well!

This is my favorite time of the year in terms of comic book stories, because I have a longbox almost full of Christmas comic books that I take out every year the day after Thanksgiving. It's been a tradition in my house, since I got my first comic book with a Christmas theme to read those stories every year to help get me in the mood for the holiday! The first Christmas comic book I can remember buying that featured superheroes was DC Comics Presents # 67, which featured Superman teaming with the spirit of Christmas himself, Santa Claus.

Both are experts with a sword and the ways of the warrior, but if these two fighting femmes were to face off in a battle to the finish, would Colleen Wing or Katana come out on top?

Every year I try to give comic books to as many people I can as possible for Christmas, especially the young people in my life, because if we want comic books to continue, you always have to try to spread the love. It's tough to find the right comic for the right person, but I think some of the suggestions I give below will do well for just about anyone on your list.

There are hundreds of Christmas comic books out there! Today, to get in the holiday spirit, I'm presenting my Top Five DC Christmas Comics for all of you to enjoy!  Even if you're naughty, you might find something nice about these picks! And I'd love to have your DC lists as well!

It's an underwater brawl where there can be only one clear winner, but just who has the greatest advantage if the original sea king Aquaman faces off against the surface hater, Namor the Sub-Mariner? It's sure to be a fight where one of them flounders! But which one won't be sorry, Charlie?

For the past few years, I've been listing my choice for some great stocking stuffers for the young (and young at heart) folks in your life. Today, I'm going to share even more! Most of these DVDs were recently released. Remember candy and treats are fun for a moment, but getting a great movie for someone in your life is something that can be enjoyed over and over again. So make some new Christmas traditions by considering these films instead of the sugary treats.

It's the most wonderful time of the year … but it's kind of left me feeling a little nostalgic and sad. When I was younger, the holidays signaled a sea of Christmas/Holiday themed comics from "the big two," (remember there were only two) each story set to leave visions of sugar plumbs dancing in your head. Or, at least, visions of costume clad heroes getting mixed up in one holiday mishap or another. But, lately, the new "holiday" themed stories don't feel so jolly, they don't feel so spirited either. I wonder why.

OK, I love Batman Brave and Bold. I think Marvel's Super-Hero Squad is cute as the Dickens! Wolverine and the X-Men is a great introduction to the mutants strife and Iron Man is just tech-licious. Marvel is on the ball introducing more and more of their characters to the animated world. But there is SO much more that could be done to take some of comics greatest superheroes and introduce them to a whole new generation. Today, I'm presenting my Top Five DC Superheroes Who Should Have A Cartoon Series NOW!

I like reading war comic books. Ever since I was first reading them a Sgt. Rock or Sgt. Fury or Haunted Tank or any of those types of stories would really strike a chord with me. I adored All-Star Squadron and loved the Wonder Woman series the most when it was set in World War Two. The reason for all of this, I think, is because of my grandfather … a real G. I. Joe!

Two symbols of the Red, White and Blue are facing off and their can be only one winner when the original Captain America squares off against the original Shield. Which of these patriotic heroes would win in a fight to the finish? Why?

It's no secret that I really like playing XBOX 360 games and will play just about any genre of game, so it's not uncommon to see me playing something like Scene It Bright Lights! Big Screen! one minute, then Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 the next. After that I might get Dragonball Raging Blasts to check out. I'm willing to try just about any game at least once and tell all of you what I think about it. So this week, along with those few aforementioned games, I'm also going to be reviewing a game I thought might be right up my alley, Fairy Tale Fights. So quit playing with your joystick for a second, and see what I think about those three very different games!
