Jonah Hex Misfires
![]()
DC’s Jonah Hex bit the bullet at the box office this weekend with a ghastly $5.1 million.
The reviews didn’t help. With just 14% positive reviews of Rotten Tomatoes and a low 35 metascore at Metacritic, Jonah Hex turned theaters into ghost towns.
According to the Boston Globe:
The only thing sadder than Jonah Hex is what appears to have happened to his movie.
And the Washington Post:
Jonah Hex may not be the longest 81 minutes you ever spend, but it might well be the most tedious.
And USA TODAY:
The opening frame of Jonah Hex should say: “Caution: Made expressly for the male teen demographic. Not suitable for anyone of any age who prefers movies with coherence, an original plot or characters they give a hoot about.”
Woody proves the box office ain’t big enough for two cowboys.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s Disney sibling Pixar cleaned up with Toy Story 3 which raked in $109 million.
