Lookee heah fellas a studio tour of frank cho's work environment. As I suspected--full of distractions. Now I know where he smears his boogers. Probably watching a movie while he's doing it. Seriously, not the best set up to get the job done. He even admits he has 2 monitors hooked to his computer so when he's working in photo shop he can also surf porn. Now, granted, if I had the opportunity to have the two monitor set up, I'd do the same thing, only have both monitors on porn. Regardless, it's a distraction for his line of work.

I wonder if his kids knew he was in the basement all day and into the night or did daddy say he had to go to work and go down there before everyone got up in the morning. To "beat the traffic".

Ha! Nice tour of the Cho studio. Multiple TV sets, computer monitors, gym equipment, toys, couches, books and comics, doo-dads and other distractions. Now I see where those 10-plus weeks went between every issue of his MIGHTY AVENGERS.

If I had to guess, I'd say Jack Kirby's studio had a drawing table, a chair and a bunch of art supplies. Maybe some of his old comics and art books for reference purposes.

Check out Stuart Immomens set up. These artists should do a studio swap. Immomen's is all business.

Tuck, you said:

"did I mention how he voted himself an award?"

From what I remember of the discussion of this issue when it went around these boards, Cho said that another artist on the nominating committee did the nominating and that he voted for himself after the fact.

So though your statement isn't technically inaccurate, it does slightly gloss over the order of events, at least as Cho represents them (and in this case I see no reason to disbelieve him).

In later posts he admitted that casting a vote for himself was a faux pas, so that really should be the last of it.

What do you have against breasts?

Isn't it supposed to go, "If I told you, you have nice body, would you hold it against me?"

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I admire Frank Cho. The dude has a wife and at least one small child. He gets away from them for most of 2007 by telling his wife he has to slave away on MIGHTY AVENGERS -- and then he retreats to a large private room full of comic books, books, video games, a TV, music, movies, computers, porn, art supplies, gym equipment, action figures and other toys, snacks and drinks and what looks like a big, comfortable couch right in the middle.

"Sorry, honey, I can't help change the baby's diapers, I'm very busy WORKING!"

("This 'Girls Gone Wild' video won't wank to itself, will it, Mr. Iron Man action figure?")

I remember when Joe Madureira was the hottest thing around, yet couldn't meet deadlines to save his life. They did a tour of his home and they spent more time looking at his video game collection than his drawing table.

Y'know, when you put it that way, it makes it seems heroic. Cho is living the dream, not just for himself, but for all of us who can't.

No kidding! I'm now officially jealous as hell. Hey, give me that cool fanboy sanctum, and in exchange, I'll draw you a MIGHTY AVENGERS issue at some point next year, too.
