Tom Scioli’s Transformers Vs. G.I. Joe Gets A ‘Quintessential’ Collection

by Hannah Means Shannon

The complete series of Tom Scioli’s work on Transformers vs. G.I. Joe is getting a hardback collected edition, but it’s getting deluxe treatment as a “Quintessential Collection”.

Working with Transformers veteran co-writer John Barber, Scioli brought his trademark indie artwork and sensibilities to the tale of an epic conflict, and all 13 issues of the maxi-series, as well as a debut #0 issue, plus Transformers vs. G.I. Joe The Movie Adaptation will all be included in this hardcover collection. Back matter will also  include page-by-page commentary by Scoili and Barber for each issue, along with a complete cover gallery.

Scioli admits:

It’s the hardest I’ve ever worked on. There’s blood on those pages. I gave everything I had to give. Go from T.H.E. P.I.T. to Cybertron and back again. Read the comic that inspired the movie! I’m already nostalgic for it and you will be, too!

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe: The Quintessential Collection is available now from IDW using ISBN: 978-1631408601.
