Tom Hardy Fights His Demons In Venom Teaser

Sony has released the first teaser of their upcoming Venom. Based on the now-classic Spider-Man villain/anti-hero, Tom Hardy takes up the role of Eddie Brock, a man fighting his own demons; personified in an alien substance hungry to destroy.
Joying Hardy in the film are actors Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Williams. According to earlier reports, Williams will play a New York District Attorney in the film. Jumanji‘s Scott Rosenberg and The Dark Tower‘s Jeff Pinkner are writing the script for director Ruben Fleischer, who directed Zombieland.
The Spider-Man free spinoff is part of Sony’s initiative to create film franchises from the rest of the characters associated with Peter Parker, who is currently part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Besides Venom, the studio is also developing Black and Silver, based on Spider-Man allies Black Cat and Silver Sable and Morbius, The Living Vampire.
Venom opens on October 5th.
