Though new showrunner Beth Schwartz does not assume full control of Arrow until next season, she has already taken over one of the ancillary roles of the position: talking about episodes in the occasional “Inside Look” video on The CW’s YouTube channel. For this week’s episode, she details Ricardo Diaz’s (Kirk Acevedo) next move now that he has control of Star City. It involved Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), Bludhaven of all places, and a new criminal cabal.
As far as I can tell, the Quadrant is a whole new idea not based on an established DC Comics organization … unless of course it’s hiding some other name like “Kobra” or the like. And if you’ve been following my criticism of Diaz this whole time, then you know I’m looking forward to things “not going his way” in tonight’s episode. I’m already hoping that this Quadrant casts him aside or Black Siren stabs him in the back and takes over his would-be empire. Meanwhile, since the episode is titled “The Dragon,” I hope we learn about the man who trained Diaz. But then, I’ve been hoping for the real Richard Dragon all season.
Arrow airs Thursdays on The CW.
