Legion Expands To 11 Episodes For Second Season

by Erik Amaya

Though FX’s Legion is in the middle of its second season, it has expanded by one episode.
Deadline reports the series will have an 11th episode to air June 12th. Written by creator Noah Hawley and directed by Keith Gordon, the episode will see David Haller (Dan Stevens) face down the future. The season was originally set to run ten episodes — two more than its debut season — but it seems the material required to wrap up the season spilled into a second hour.
The series details Haller’s struggles with sanity and the Shadow King, an ancient mutant with enormous psychic abilities who hid in David’s mind for decades. The series also stars Rachel Keller, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Bill Irwin, Jemaine Clement, Hamish Linklater and both Navid Negahban and Aubrey Plaza as aspects of the Shadow King. Based on the X-Men character Legion and a handful of familiar X-Men ideas, it blazed its own course and became one of the more compelling superhero-based television shows on the air.
Legion airs Tuesdays on FX.
