It’s one thing to fool someone vulnerable and naive; it’s another thing to con some of the wealthiest, most powerful and intelligent people in the nation. Fyre is a frightening exploration on how far bravado can take a man and the damage done to those around him.
Struggle: The Life and Lost Art of Szukalski
Struggle is a tale of genius, ego, tragedy and redemption that explores the role of art and integrity in society. Fans of Jodorowsky’s Dune will enjoy the brilliant and bizarre character of Stanislaw Szukalski. The sculptures shown in the documentary are as unique as the works of HR Giger. It’s a shame that so much work has been lost.
Sky Ladder
On a more uplifting note, Sky Ladder follows the works of Chinese pyrotechnic artist Cai Guo-Qiang. His story reimagines art by injecting energy and fun without ever seeming crass or commercial. The fireworks of Cai Guo-Qiang attempt to build a bridge between heaven and earth and succeed in communicating across cultures.
