Iris Heads To The Future In A Preview Of Next Week’s The Flash
by Erik Amaya
Barry (Grant Gustin) made a unilateral decision in regard to his daughter Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy). And it seems Iris (Candice Patton) is not thrilled by his choice in the matter. According to this preview for next week’s show, she’s using the Time Sphere to meet up with Nora in the 2040s. The reunion will bring all of the repressed emotions to the fore, which appears to be the endgame Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) wanted all along. Will it allow him to escape execution?
Meanwhile, this week’s episode was something of a series best with Nora essentially experiencing her own pilot episode. In the midst of learning about her powers and suffering the consequences of being a hero, it gave the character some much needed depth; including that showdown with future Iris. From Nora’s point of view, Iris’s decision to dampen her powers definitely seems more heartless than before. Of course, Iris can also be as impulsive as Barry when it comes to the things she considers important. Too bad the show never really examines this.
Then again, this may be the very thing Thawne was counting on. Maybe he’ll even call her out on it.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
