Meet The New Class In Lev Grossman’s The Magicians #1 First Look

Boom! Studios has shared an early preview of The Magicians #1, due out next month from series creator Lev Grossman, writer Lilah Sturges, and artist Pius Bak. It features an all-new story set in the world of The Magicians including the first appearance of the next generation of magic practitioners.
The Magicians picks up well after Quentin and his friends have graduated from Brakebills. Dean Fogg welcomes a new group of students to the school. For the first time hedge magicians, rogue practitioners of unsanctioned magic, are invited to enroll. This causes some problems with the classical magicians who aren’t happy with the rule-breaking outcasts in these hallowed halls. Tempers flare as the student bodies clash, but neither side realizes the new danger emerging to threaten them all.
The Magicians #1 features a main cover by Qistina Khalidah and a tarot card variant by Alexa Sharpe that features the brand new magician Hierophant. Look for it at your local comic shop on November 6th, 2019.
