Discover Hidden Ghosts In Jenna Ayoub’s Forever Home

by James Ferguson

BOOM! Studios has announced Forever Home, a new original graphic novel from cartoonist Jenna Ayoub about finding your place and learning to love where you are. From the sound of it, it’s a great complement to Ghosted in LA, a series I absolutely love.

Creator Jenna Ayoub says:

Forever Home has been a very fun, and very personal project for me. It has given me the chance to pay homage to the spirits that I love—many of whom are actually still alive and hopefully will appreciate the little parts that they contributed to this story. I’m very excited to bring this adventure to life, and hope that it will bring readers as much joy as it has brought me.

Forever Home follows Willow, a young woman with a nomadic childhood. Her parents are both in the military so staying put has become a pipe dream. The family’s latest stop is the historic Hadleigh House where Willow has a paranormal encounter. It turns out the place is haunted and the ghosts have been scaring off would-be homebuyers for decades since they want to keep the house to themselves. Willow’s not going to let these nagging spirits force her to move for the millionth time so she works to gain their respect. Maybe they can find some peace. They’ll just have to convince Willow’s parents that this old house with all its ghosts, is the place to call home.
Bryce Carlson, Vice President, Editorial & Creative Strategy, BOOM! Studios added:

I’ve been excited about this book since the pitch first came in, and now having the chance to work with Jenna and watch her bring Willow and the charming, funny, and heartfelt world of Forever Home to life is an absolute joy. Jenna is an incredible talent whose debut graphic novel weaves a heartwarming tale about a young girl who finally finds a place she can call home and the lengths she’ll go to protect the place—and those living and unliving inside—that she loves.

Forever Home is set to debut in November 2020.
