Wakanda Forever: Shuri Leads Her House In ‘Marvel Realm of Champions’
by Gary Catig
Mobile game developer Kabam has gradually released sneak peeks at the different houses for their upcoming game, Marvel Realm of Champions. The real time RPG takes place in a version of Battleworld where different factions fight against each other for supremacy.
During the game’s launch later this year, a total of eight different houses will be available for players to choose from. Previously, we have seen Stark Prime’s House of Iron, Peggy Carter’s Patriot Garrison and the Ancient One’s Temple of Vishanti. Now, we’ll take a look at the Kingdom of Wakanda, lead by Queen Shuri.
BRIEF HISTORY
In Marvel Realm of Champions, when Wakanda was abducted into The Battleworld by Maestro, the land was plunged into a state of temporary political disarray. After challenging Maestro to ritualistic combat, King T’Challa was slain trying to protect his home.
Maestro struck down his opponent, shattering both the Black Panther and the will of his people. As a show of his terrible power, Maestro accelerated his plans, the event known as THE BANISHMENT seemed to wipe much of Wakanda out of existence.
Those that survived slowly picked themselves up following the reluctant rise of the next heir, Queen Shuri. Though her disregard for tradition has put many on edge, it’s her drive to combine the lessons of yesterday with the teachings of tomorrow that built up the Kingdom of Wakanda. To reclaim what was stolen, and to rectify what was lost; a new breed of Black Panther prepares for their next hunt.
Unfortunately, the latest reveal doesn’t come with an accompanying trailer like the earlier ones. With the Kingdom of Wakanda announcement, we’ve hit the halfway point of the initial launch houses. Who’s eager to learn more about the others?
