‘Injustice: Year Zero’ DC Digital First Officially Announced From Tom Taylor
by Olly MacNamee
DC Digital First is starting to live up to its name with yet another new title that gets an exclusive digital debut. Tom Taylor has been teasing this one for a week over in Twitter but today we get the full picture as Injustice: Year Zero is announced with the first three issues available now online as a bundle pack.
Breaking this news with The Hollywood Reporter earlier today, Taylor revealed to them that this new series sees, “Superman and Batman at the peak of their friendship. Lois and Clark as a team. The Justice League united, and the Justice Society as a shining example for all.”
Although, this is the bleak darker world of Injustice we’re talking about here, with Taylor adding, “Of course, by its very nature, there’s going to be tragedy and shocks and deaths, but there will be hope, there will be triumph, there will be love with the loss and heart alongside the hurt.”
Published twice monthly and spanning 14 chapters, here’s your first look at the first issue, out now, with art by Rogê Antônio, Cian Tormey, Rain Beredo and Wes Abbott.
“Taylor’s prequel story in Injustice: Year Zero, “Fall of the Old Gods,” focuses the action around the Justice League and the discovery of how their predecessors covertly fought within WWII to bring down a tyrant. When the Joker finds a way to control DC’s Super Heroes, he uses his leverage to sabotage the Justice League—and the JSA—from the inside!”
