Netflix’s ‘Warrior Nun’ Gets A Second Season

Somehow, some way, Warrior Nun is coming back for a second season. Netflix announced Wednesday that the series, based on the Warrior Nun Areala comics by Ben Dunn, will return.

The series stars Alba Baptista as Ava, a teenage girl who has incredible power and joins a society of warrior nuns sworn to protect the world from various evils — which is honestly a damned good premise for a TV show. Toya Turner, Lorena Andrea, Kristina Tonteri-Young, and Olivia Delcan also star. The program debuted in July, but as with many Netflix programs, its future was unclear despite a cult following.
Of course, it is also unclear when the season will be produced as productions centers across the globe vary in their COVID-19 response and plans to resume any sort of filming. But we’ll presume the program is ear-marked for a late 2021 return on Netflix.
