Remender’s ‘The Scumbag’ Gets Some Pretty Scummy Incentive Covers

by Olly MacNamee

Rick Remender’s newest comic book, the humour series The Scumbag which will see some of the best comic book artists in the industry tale it in turn to illustrate each issue – will come with four additional incentive covers. And, while all four are pretty exceptional – being illustrated by Yanick Paquette with Nathan Fairbairn, Tula Loty and Jerome Opeña – it’s the Star Wars incentive covers that I’m loving, but have no chance of owning given the silver foil is 1:50 cover and the gold foiled cover is even rarer at 1:100. But, best of luck to the erst of you in finding one. However the Tula Lotay cover will be 1:10 and Paquette and Fairbarn’s cover will be 1:25. Like I said, al pretty exceptional, so I’ll just be happy to grab an issue of this soon-to-sell-out new series. Have you added it to your pull list yet to avoid disappointment?

The Scumbag #1 is illustrated by Lewis LaRosa.
The Scumbag is the story of Ernie Ray Clementine, a profane, illiterate, drug addicted, biker, with a fifth-grade education and the only thing standing between us and total Armageddon because this dummy accidentally received a power-imbuing serum making him the world’s most powerful super spy.
Ernie is a relic of a bygone era, the living embodiment of sex, drugs and rock and roll—so, this doesn’t make things easy for the spy organization that needs his help as they bribe, cajole, and manipulate Ernie to choose between his own self-interests and doing what’s right.”
