Korean New Wave Cinema is best known for its grounded and emotional storytelling. I’ve never seen a period piece martial arts film from South Korea but The Swordsman appears to deliver everything I would want.
The swordplay has a speed and brutality unseen in most action films. As a fan of Korean New Wave Cinema and period piece warrior films I’ll be seeing The Swordsman once its available in America. But for now, enjoy this trailer.
