Neil Hopkins And Joy Osmanski Join ‘Stargirl’ For Season 3
by Erik Amaya
It seems Sportsmaster (Neil Hopkins) and Tigress (Joy Osmanski) will be resettling in Blue Valley on a more permanent basis.
Deadline reports Hopkins and Osmanski have been promoted to series regulars for Stargirl‘s third season next year. The pair recurred during the first season as members of the Injustice Society of America and are set to reappear this coming Tuesday. Within the fiction of the show, they first relocated to Blue Valley at the behest of the ISA’s top brass decades ago. Sportsmaster, aka Lawrence “Crusher” Crock opened up a gym while Tigress, aka Paula Brooks, became a member of the Blue Valley High faculty. They also raised a daughter, Atremis (Stella Smith), in relative peace until the appearance of Stargirl (Brec Bassinger) forced the ISA to accelerate their plans. Although several ISA members were killed during the final showdown last season, Sportsmaster and Tigress were sent to prison. But it seems their time in jail will be short-lived.
In fact, based on the preview of Tuesday’s episode, it seems Stargirl and Pat (Luke Wilson) are willing to help them. It remains to be seen how the couple will fit into the show’s dynamic — but watching two supervillains reform has an appeal to it.
Stargirl airs Tuesdays on The CW.
