‘The Wrong Earth’ Returns As A Series Of One-Shots With A Troop Of Top Talent Onboard

by Olly MacNamee

The Wrong Earth will be back in 2022 with a series of one-off specials written and illustrated by some of the best in the biz. Just announced to chronicle the further adventures of AHOY Comics parallel world-swapping superheroes, Dragonfly and Dragonflyman, are Gail Simone (Red Sonja), Mark Waid (History of the Marvel Universe), AHOY Comics Editor-in-Chief Tom Peyer, Second Coming writer Mark Russell, and Captain Ginger writer Stuart Moore along with artistic talent, Bill Morrison, Walter Geovani, Michael Montenat, Fred Harper, Leonard Kirk, and Greg Scott, with covers by The Wrong Earth co-creator and artist Jamal Igle, as well as variant covers by Gene Ha, Dan Parent, Jerry Ordway, and more.

These specials are described by EiC Tom Peyer and The Wrong Earth co-creator, tongue firmly in cheek thusly:
“Words will be written, words will be deleted, and nothing will ever be the same. This is Crisis on Infinite Earths, minus the line-wide consequences that made it interesting. This is Secret Wars without toys. This is the kind of epic, superheroic storytelling that publishers and CFOs love, where the tail of wealth-enhancing variant covers wags the dog of art.”
Each of The Wrong Earth special one-shots will contain a stand-alone, 25-page story that expands on the multiverse first introduced in AHOY Comics’ flagship title by Peyer and Igle, and launches in March 2022 with The Wrong Earth: Trapped on the Teen Planet #1 written by Gail Simone, with art by Bill Morrison, Walter Geovani, and Rob Lean, with colors by Andy Troy, and lettering by Rob Steen. Watch out Archie Andrews, looks like you may have multiversal competition!
