Appeal Studios Shows Off Gameplay For ‘Gangs Of Sherwood’
by Sage Ashford
During the Nacon Connect, developer Appeal Studios revealed footage for their upcoming co-op action RPG, Gangs of Sherwood. As people might guess from the title, Gangs of Sherwood follows Robin Hood and his Merry Men as they battle against the forces of the Sheriff of Nottingham, who’s grown a bit more powerful since coming to possess the powerful Philosopher’s Stone.
Though the world of Robin Hood appeared in the video game world recently with Hood: Outlaws & Legends, this game is a little different, with Gangs of Sherwood being playable both solo or co-op with up to four friends. Though combat is the focus in this title, the game also has an ongoing narrative and platforming elements, as shown below:
Other interesting factors to Gangs of Sherwood include a hideout from where players can plan future missions, and the ability to literally “give to the poor” by giving money to people saved on missions to get special new upgrades.
Gangs of Sherwood is scheduled to release on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X during the Fall. Players interested in testing the game can apply to enter the game’s playtest, though.
