This week, the third issue of Coady and the Creepies arrives, published Boom! Box, an imprint of Boom! Studios. It’s a comic that’s shown a lot of originality in content as well as art style, and is well worth a read. The story focuses on three sisters who are part of a punk band, and trying to get back to their music in the wake of a terrible accident that put one sister in a wheelchair, and one into the afterlife, though she’s still posing as being alive.
Now they are participating in their final “Pinmaggedon” show competing against other bands, and determined not to let anything get in their way. Written by Liz Prince, illustrated by Amanda Kirk, with colors by Hannah Fisher, and with cover art by Kat Leyh and Liz Prince, the series will win you over with its amusing verve and dark sense of humor. And for music-lovers, it’s a must, too.
