First, there was the release of an official Black Panther film poster by Marvel Studios, which produced very mixed reactions in fans. Most agreed that aspects of it were rather badass, while others took the poster to task for a less than seamless use of photoshop:
Then, there was the release of the official teaser trailer for the film, which is arriving in February 2018, and the fan reaction to the trailer was more universal. It is definitely badass, and shows all the big budget attention we have come to expect from the art and design on Marvel films, but applied to a cast of African characters in an African setting, bringing a wealth of new art and cultural concepts to the screen.
