That’s right–ballots are only open until July 18th, only a little over a week away, to place your votes for the first annual Ringo Awards being held this year at Baltimore Comic Con 2017.
In case you haven’t heard, The Ringo Awards have been established in honor of comic artist Mike Weiringo who, sadly, passed away at a young age, but left behind a rich legacy of work but also a tremendous example of positively impacting fellow comic pros and also comic fans.
The awards named in his honor are aiming to capture his professionalism and talent—but also his sense of fun and enjoyment of the comics medium—in the comics that are honored with Ringo Awards this year and beyond.
There must have been comics published in 2016 that so filled you with enthusiasm that they made you feel the wonder you once felt as a kid reading comics–those are the comics you need to head over to the awards website and nominate.
Nominations can be comics that are widely read or those which have had only a limited audience and need more attention. The key is to honor creators and comics who represent achievements in great comics storytelling.
Comicon.com is honored to participate this year in the Ringo Awards with our Executive Editor, Hannah Means-Shannon, acting as a judge, alongside John Haines, Jamar Nichols, Chris Powell, and Jose Villarubia.
Find out more about voting, which is open to comic professionals and fans alike, right here.
