Boom! Studios Announces Rugrats Comics By Box Brown And Lisa Dubois Ahead Of SDCC ’17
by Hannah Means Shannon
Boom! Studios and Nickelodeon have announced a new partnership in the lead-up to SDCC ’17 this week that will result in a number of comics and graphic novels based on their ’90’s animated series. The first book we’ll see coming out of this partnership will land in October 2017 with Rugrats #1.
Rugrats will be written by award-winning writer and publisher Box Brown and illustrated by Lisa Dubois. In this new series, Tommy, Chucky, Phil, and Lil have noticed something, that they are “being watched”. Somehow their parents can see every little thing that they do and now they have to find a way to have fun while avoiding the “electronic eyes of the babycam”.
Rugrats #1 will feature covers by Jorge Corona (The Flash), Shelli Paroline & Braden Lamb (Adventure Time), and Art Baltazar (Tiny Titans).
Filip Sablik, President, Publishing & Marketing, BOOM! Studios says:
As longtime fans of Nickelodeon’s innovative, outstanding programming, we couldn’t be happier to kick off our partnership with the return of Rugrats. The entire team at Nickelodeon has been a fantastic partner, working with us to deliver the best all-new stories of your favorite animated shows in comic book form through our all-ages KaBOOM! imprint.
Rugrats #1 is scheduled for release on October 18th 2017.
