Celebrating Comics And Animation – Highlights Of This Week’s Comic Con Palm Springs

Comic Con Palm Springs is in its second year and will be held from August 25 to August 27 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. They have assembled a good mix of talent scheduled to appear from comic creators, voice actors, and people from television. For example, they have brought in comic heavyweights Stan Lee, a Marvel Legend, and Rob Liefeld, creator of Deadpool. I plan to discuss and spotlight other comic talents in another article.
If you like the animated shows Samurai Jack, Sponge Bob, or Adventure Time, you are in luck.  Also set to appear are Phil LaMarr, Tom Kenney, and John DiMaggio. They will also have writers and producers from such TV shows as Xena: Warrior Princess, Batman: The Animated Series, and Superboy.
They also recently released their schedule and I want to highlight three panels from the upcoming weekend for you.
1. Batman –The Animated Series 25th Anniversary Panel

Time: Friday, Aug 25 | 5:30pm – 6:30pm, Encore Sunday, Aug 27 | 3:00pm – 4:00pm

Join us as the folks responsible for bringing Batman back to television discuss not only what it took to get  the fan favorite series made but also what sacrifices were made in turning it into one of if not the most popular cartoon series of the 1990s!
 
2. Love is Love! A celebration of diversity in honor of the Pulse Nightclub Tragedy

Comic con Palm Springs wants to celebrate the diversity that has brought fans of all types together and the amazing graphic novel published by IDW Publishing with help from DC Comics following an awful tragedy that has brought fans together!
 
3. Twisted Toons – Live Script Reading of Back to the Future!
Feat: Troy Baker, Jess Harnell, Tom Kenny, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr
Time: Saturday, Aug 26 | 3:30pm – 5pm
Location: Main Stage
