Calling All Star Wars Fans! Are The Canon Books Worth A Read?
by Christine Marie Attardo
Sometimes I find myself in the Star Wars zone. You know what I’m talking about? You wake up with “The Imperial March” in your head, you only want to eat out of R2-D2 themed cereal bowls, and you start questioning everything that went right and wrong in the prequels? The other day, while scrolling through Twitter news, I came across this tweet:
All the Canon books in order. You want back story? Start here. #StarWars #ReadABook #IfYouOnlyKnewThePowerOfReading pic.twitter.com/lwYSbljksH

As a fan of Star Wars, I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never picked up a canon book, not once. So, I stared at this extensive list and wondered if it would be worth picking any of them up. Eighteen books is a lot of books to invest in.
I decided to turn to Goodreads, only to find that the list of canon books was even longer than I expected. Different fans have different opinions.
I want to know what you think! What are your favorite Star Wars books? If you haven’t read any, would you consider embarking on such a journey?
