The Kingpin Returns For Daredevil Season 3

by Erik Amaya

The third season Daredevil is still a ways off, but one key member of its cast has been lined up: Vincent D’Onofrio.
Deadline reports the actor will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk, the notorious Kingpin. The character was the principle antagonist of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdoch in the first season and made a memorable guest appearance in the second. It is unclear just how involved he’ll be in the season three story, but the relatively early announcement of D’Onofrio’s return suggests it will be substantial.
With Fisk’s return comes some new blood in the form of new executive producer Eric Oleson. Taking over showrunner duties from season two producers Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, Oleson is a veteran of shows like The Man in the High Castle and Arrow. His task will be to shepherd Matt, Foggy and Karen into their post-Defenders reality. Will the latter two ever accept Matt’s heroing ways?
It is unclear when the new season will debut or even shoot. But it will likely follow the second seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in 2018. Marvel’s newest Netflix show, The Punisher, premieres in November.
