Max Fiumara Joins The Black Hammer Universe With Doctor Star & The Kingdom Of Lost Tomorrows

by Hannah Means Shannon

We’ve been following Sherlock Frankenstein here on Comicon.com, the series that spins out of Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s Black Hammer as published at Dark Horse, and drawn by David Rubin. A second expansion on that world has been announced in Doctor Star & The Kingdom of Lost Tomorrows, which will be drawn by Abe Sapien artist Max Fiumara.

The new four-issue miniseries will be colored by the great Dave Stewart (Hellboy) and lettered by the estimable Nate Piekos (Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite).
Doctor Star & The Kingdom of Lost Tomorrows will also feature variant covers by Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire, J.G. Jones, Dustin Nguyen, and Annie Wu.
World War II-era origin, his powers, the extent of his “astral adventures”, and take us deeper into the lore of Black Hammer’s heroes.

Lemire says:

Dean and I were thrilled to see the fan response to Sherlock Frankenstein & The Legion of Evil. We’re very excited to continue to expand the Black Hammer universe with Doctor Star with Max Fiumara as the artist. This new series examines a difficult relationship between a father and son, which I think many people will relate to.

The first issue (of four) of Doctor Star & The Kingdom of Lost Tomorrows goes on sale on March 7th, 2018 and will be available for preorder at your local comic shop on December 20, 2017.
