Witchblade Makes Good On Her Return, Goes To Second Printing For #1

by Hannah Means Shannon

Witchblade returned for a much heralded resurrection of the character and title from Top Cow, and the numbers are in: the first issue has sold out and gone to second printing.
Writer Caitlin Kittredge (Throwaways, Coffin Hill) and artist Roberta Ingranata have brought new blood to the title in more ways than one. First co-created by Image Comics co-founder and partner, Marc Silvestri, with Brian Haberlin, Michael Turner, and David Wohl, the series features Alex Underwood, a female journalist, who after being shot, returns to the land of the living to play host to an ageless artefact that can grant mysterious powers.

Silvestri says:

Issue #1 has sold out! Wow, thank you to all the fans for supporting this bold new chapter in the Witchblade saga! And thank you Caitlin Kittredge, Roberta Ingranata and Bryan Valenza for your creative vision. It takes a truly talented team to make a book this good!

In Witchblade, Demons are real and walking among humans and they want to take down Alex Underwood as the Witchblade’s newest host.
Witchblade #1, 2nd printing (Diamond Code NOV178001) and Witchblade #2 (Diamond Code NOV170871) will be available on Wednesday, January 10th. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, December 18th.
