John Tyler Christopher’s Star Wars 40th Anniversary Cover Revealed And Released

by Olly MacNamee

Missing the 40th anniversary of Star Wars by just a month isn’t something I’ll hold against cover artist supremo, John Tyler-Christopher, if this belated variant is the result. Featuring… well, you’ve got eyes so you can clearly see who’s on the cover just below. Great choice too, methinks. You deserve a medal yourself, John.

“As a farm boy growing up in Indiana, I always looked up to Luke Skywalker,” Tyler announced via social media. “It’s always an honor to be able to draw him, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate 40 years of Star Wars on the 40th issue! Thank you Mr. Hamill for inspiring me to live my dream!”

And, it’ll be available through John’s webshop on January 25th from 6pm. But, it’s a limited release of 3,000, so hurry. And, if you are a fan and want to keep up to date with releases from John, you may want to sign up for his newsletter. He’ll only contact you if there’s a new release, so no spam!
As for the cover, “Impressive, most impressive.”

Star Wars #40 John Tyler Christopher Action Figure variant will be on sale January 25th at 6pm (ish).
And, if you want to know more about the man himself, you can always revisit our write up of his recent panel I was fortunate enough to sit in on at Birmingham’s ICE last September.
