It’s Valentine’s Day this week and love is in the air. So break out the candles, dim the lights, and clear your search history– as we count down the top 5 eechi anime.
High School of The Dead

HOTD has a reputation as the most bizarre mash-up of zombie post-apocalypse and sexploitation comedy. Some think its commercial trash and represents the worst aspect of Anime, while others think it’s a fun action show with some steamy scenes thrown in. Having watched the series, I can say that it’s not as bad or as good as people say. However, HOTD brought a risqué genre into the mainstream Anime community. Therefore  it deserves a place on this list.
Cat Planet Cuties

When a group of cat-girls travel from an alien planet to visit Earth, the Japanese government treats them as alien invaders.
There is a surprising amount of action and drama in Cat Planet Cuties when it could have easily been about cute cat-girls shaking their tails. This could have been an even more awesome show if it really wanted to be. But as cat-fetish anime goes, this is the most fun and creative.
Date A Live

In the world world of Date A Live beautiful female spirits will cause an earthquake if they go on a bad date. This show is pretty ridiculous but it does have one AWESOME character named Kurumi (seen above).
Everything from her character design to her personality is unique and enthralling. Her mood can veer from being sweet to sadistic- making her an unpredictable love interest. Origami is also a rad character and there are some sexy twins thrown in, so the show is not a total waste.
Riddle Story of Devil

When Azuma enters a boarding school of assassins she falls for a girl named Haru–who is the target of all the other assassin-girls. Riddle Story of Devil is a cool action/suspense show with a little cheesecake thrown in. Badass fight scenes, sexy character designs, and a twist ending make Riddle Story of Devil worthy of the number two spot.
The Testament of Sister New Devil

Action, humor, intricate world building-this anime has it all. The plot sounds like a typical harem anime with young Basara Toujou getting a sexy demon step-sister. However, Basara is a harem protagonist that can hold his own in a fight unlike the boys in Date A Live or Cat Planet Cuties. If you’re looking for an extremely eechi anime to spice up Valentine’s Day check out The Testament of Sister New Devil.
