Thanos’s invasion of the Earth will begin earlier than previously announced.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War will open on April 27th, one week earlier than the May 4th US release date it has held for years. Moving to April 27th means it will enjoy a global launch on the same day.
The film, directed by Captain America: Civil War‘s Joe and Anthony Russo, resolves plot lines from that film and several other seeded throughout Marvel Studios films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Originally designed as a two-part feature, Infinity War moves Thanos and his collection of the Infinity Stones into one titanic event.
And in moving the film, Infinity War has a nice, clear lead versus films like Deadpool 2 and Disney stablemate Solo: A Star Wars Story during the first weeks of the summer season.
Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th.
