The Wizarding World Gets Their Wands Ready For Crimes Of Grindlewald Trailer

The first trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures upcoming film, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald will debut tomorrow. So the company has put the Wizard World on alert with the #WandsReady hashtag and the following short tease of fans getting prepared.

The films sees the return of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them‘s Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Tina (Katherine Waterston), Queenie (Alison Sudol), and muggle Jacob (Dan Fogler) as they head to Europe and face off against the Dark Lord of the era, a wizard known as Grindlewald (Johnny Depp).
While the first film was surprisingly sweet and fun, the casting of Depp as Grindlewald led a lot of criticism toward the studio and Wizard World creator J.K. Rowling, who has defended Depp’s role in a number of tweets and other public statements. Depp was accused in 2016 of domestic abuse against former wife Amber Heard. Though the situation was never prosecuted, the photos of Heard’s bruised face and video of an angry Depp slamming kitchen cabinets left many fans of the Wizarding World feeling the actor’s high-profile participation in the series was inappropriate.
But as the actor was never convicted of a crime, he will continue to play the racist wizard Grindlewald.
The film also features Jude Law as a younger Albus Dumbledore and actors like Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson , William Nadylam, Ingvar Sigurdsson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Kevin Guthrie. Ezra Miller also returns Credence, a young man terribly conflicted about magic. David Yates of the latter Harry Potter series and the first Fantastic Beasts returns as director while Rowling continues to explore her world as screenwriter.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald arrives in theaters on November 16th.
