Tati Gabrielle To Face Off Against Sabrina The Teenage Witch In Netflix Series

Deadline reports Tati Gabrielle has been cast in Netflix’s upcoming Sabrina The Teenage Witch series. Based on Archie Comics’s recent The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series, the new show will re-imagine Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and the town of Greendale in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and Hammer horror films instead of the sitcom setting of the previous Sabrina television series.
Gabrielle will take on the role of Prudence, described as “a student at the Academy of Unseen Arts and the de facto leader of a trio of witches known as the Weird Sisters.” Though capable, Prudence holds a long-standing grudge against Sabrina and may turn her talents toward ending it in the most violent way possible.
Besides Gabrielle and Shipka, the series will feature the talents of Ross Lynch as Sabrina’s potential love interest Harvey Krinkle, Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis as Sabrina’s aunts Zelda and Hilda, Doctor Who‘s Michelle Gomez, as Sabrina’s mentor Mary Wardell, Chance Perdomo as Sabrina’s British cousin Ambrose, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind Walker and Bronson Pinchot as nefarious Baxter High principle George Hawthorne.
Though known in some circles as The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the series is still untitled while Netflix debates the merits of that pulpy title versus something shorter like “Sabrina.” Originally developed as a companion series to The CW’s Riverdale, the project moved to Netflix late last year.
The series, which has a two-season commitment, is expected to debut later this year or early in 2019.
