Netflix’s Daredevil Adds Jay Ali To Season 3 Cast
by Erik Amaya
The Feds might be coming for Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in the third season of his self-titled series.
The Wrap reports that actor Jay Ali will join the Netflix show as Rahul “Ray” Nadeem, an ambitious FBI agent and family man who is “willing to go to any length for his family.”
Based on the Marvel Comics character, Cox stars as the eternally injured Matt Murdoch; a blind lawyer with enhanced senses enabling him to beat up criminals when he’s not getting beaten up himself. Cox also played Murdoch in Netflix’s The Defenders, which saw the Daredevil of Hell’s Kitchen left for dead. But a post-credit tag scene revealed he survived the collapse of a sky-scrapper and ended up in the care of some nuns.
One of the nuns happens to be named Maggie (Joanne Whalley), a name that will ping in the mind of Daredevil comic book fans as the nun who turns out to be Matt’s long-lost mother in the Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli story “Born Again.” Since The Defenders reveal, many have assumed the third season will take its cues from that story — in which Matt’s life is completely destroyed by The Kingpin.
Vincent D’Onofrio also returns this season as Wilson Fisk, the deposed Kingpin with a score to settle. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson also return as Karen Page and Foggy Wilson, Matt’s forever grimacing friends who have hard time accepting his vigilante ways.
Daredevil returns later this year on Netflix.
