The wait is finally over. All the arbitrary reasons preventing Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) from defeating Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) are finally falling away; and the reckoning is about to begin. But as this preview of next week’s Arrow season finale indicates, Diaz has an explosive final stratagem to employ. Will it be enough to defeat Team Arrow and two federal agencies?
Despite interesting things occurring in this week’s episode — like the notion that Diaz keeps a flash drive with files on the corrupted city officials around his neck — the ways both Oliver and Diaz get out of fighting one another is a joke. Despite being advertised as a brutal fighter who has never lost a match, Diaz is weak when facing Ollie head on. All he’s ever had is the numbers, which may finally dwindle next week.
Meanwhile, Oliver’s choice to reveal himself to the FBI may seem like he’s finally toast, but one imagines his work with A.R.G.U.S. in recent years and during his time in Hell will finally mean something. Or maybe locking him up will seem like a convincing season finale cliffhanger. Either way, I’ll be happy to see this season of Arrow draw to a close.
