Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Will Open In Disney Parks Next Year

The Force is strong and it’s growing stronger in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. This week brings the announcement of when the greatest park expansion will arrive to the beloved parks. Folks, we only have to wait one more year! Star Wars: Galaxy Edge will open in 2019.

While we are still hard at work creating our largest single-themed land expansions ever, I have some exciting news to share today. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open in summer 2019 at Disneyland Resort and in late fall 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort, when guests will land in the middle of the action as they live their own Star Wars stories.
As a Star Wars fan this is beyond exciting for me. I am a huge fan of Walt Disney World. I find the parks to be incredibly fulfilling and fun. It’s so nice to see how they’ve expanded over the years and something like this is going to be a real game changer. To step foot into these worlds that a lot of us have dreamed of being a part of is something that I can’t wait for. Imagine the feeling of walking the grounds feeling like a bounty hunter? A Jedi?
It’s no surprise that Disney ultimately decided to do a park expansion like this. For the past few years their Star Wars Weekends have been a gigantic hit. Are you ready to plan your trip to a galaxy far, far away? It’s only a two and a half hour flight for me to Florida.
