Danielle Nicolet Joins The Flash Full Time

District Attorney Cecile Horton is joining The Flash family on a more permanent basis.
Deadline reports Danielle Nicolet has joined The CW series as a regular for its fifth season. Loosely based on the DA charged with trying Barry Allen for murder in a classic Flash comic book storyline, Nicolet’s version of the character made a brief appearance in Season 1 before recurring throughout the subsequent season. Last year, she became romantically linked with Barry’s (Grant Gustin) surrogate father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin). In the fourth season, she became pregnant, which led to her gaining a form of pregnancy-induced telepathy which proved troublesome for Team Flash, a puzzle for Harry Wells (Tom Cavanagh) to solve and, ultimately, a key component in the team’s defeat of The Thinker (Neil Sandilands).
Keeping Nicolet as a full-time member of the cast makes sense as Cecile and Joe are new parents as of the Season 4 finale. Relearning how to parent an infant will be an interesting challenge for both characters — provided of course the baby avoids things like rapid aging or early onset superpowers. Of course, those would also prove to be unique challenges for the characters and Team Flash as a whole.
The storyline will also see Barry and Iris (Candace Patton) facing parenting issues of their own as their daughter Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) revealed her presence during the finale and admitted to some mistake which led her to find them thirty years in her past.
The Flash returns to The CW in the Fall.
