Thanks to the vagaries of release schedules and production demands, Marvel Studios will not put on its usual Hall H presentation at Comic-Con International: San Diego this year. With Ant-Man and the Wasp debuting in theaters a few weeks prior to the big geek event and Captain Marvel set for release in March, the studio choose to take a break; a first since 2013. But one MCU property will make a special journey to San Diego: the Immortal Iron Fist.
Deadline reports Iron Fist star Finn Jones and a number of other cast members and producers will make the trip out to promote the upcoming second season. It is a move which makes sense as Iron Fist Season 2 will be the next Marvel release following Luke Cage‘s second season this coming Friday. Also, the series may be in the most need of facetime with fans as its first year was not as universally embraced by Marvel watchers as the other Defenders solo series.
The site also reports a Punisher panel may also be in the works as star Jon Bernthal is expected to make a Con appearance to promote his one-episode return to AMC’s The Walking Dead.
A tenth-anniversary Marvel Cinematic Universe “extravaganza” is also expected to occur, which may turn out to feature some sort of surprise from its upcoming feature film slate, which includes Captain Marvel, the fourth Avengers film and a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
