Power Rangers Go Beyond The Grid This October

We’re in the midst of Shattered Grid, the monumental event that’s shaking up the entire Power Rangers franchise in comics from Boom! Studios. All good things must come to an end, though. We’ve been given a glimpse into what follows the event with October’s books. That’s where the Power Rangers go Beyond the Grid.
This story arc brings in a new creative team on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #32 with writer Marguerite Bennett and artist Simone di Meo as they introduce a new all-star team of Power Rangers. Pulled together from across time and space to combat a never-before-seen evil, this group will need to prove to themselves and each other that they have what it takes to not just survive this new environment, but to defeat an oncoming onslaught from an unfamiliar, yet terrifying new villain.
This sounds a bit like Marvel’s Exiles, but in the Power Rangers universe. If it’s anything like Shattered Grid, I’m so very in. I am a little bummed to see writer Kyle Higgins leaving the book as he’s done such a phenomenal job since the series began. MMPR #32 will feature a main cover by Jamal Campbell and variant covers by Jordan Gibson and Linda Lithen.

The new team of Power Rangers is just the first surprise of Power Rangers: Beyond the Grid …and it’s not the biggest one, as Marguerite and Simone are crafting the kind of Power Rangers story you’ve never seen before. And just because Shattered Grid is over, it doesn’t make anything easier for the original Power Rangers, as Ryan and Eleonara will reveal a critical piece of Power Rangers lore in their new story arc.
In related news, Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers continues in October with issue #13, showing the early days of the original MMPR team. I am curious as to why this series is still called “Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers” when Hasbro owns the franchise now. In any case, writer Ryan Parrott joins forces with new artist Eleonora Carlini for this chapter.
This issue follows the MMPR team after they came face-to-face with the Ranger Slayer. They’re still trying to come to terms with this crazy encounters and settle back into their normal teenage lives. Meanwhile, Rita Repulsa is working on a new plan to retrieve an artifact that might be the key to defeating Zordon and the Rangers once and for all.
Go Go Power Rangers #13 will feature a main cover by Dan Mora and variant covers by Miguel Mercado, Audrey Mok, and Natacha Bustos.
