While we’ve known a great deal about the upcoming Chilling Adventures of Sabrina since it was first announced as a Riverdale companion series for The CW, its release date has been as mysterious as the powers young Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) will posses. In fact, when the series jumped networks from The CW to Netflix, it seems as thought it was destined for a 2019 release.
But that is no longer the case as the streaming service and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced on Sunday that the series will debut on October 26th of this year. A rather appropriate date considering the subject matter.

The series recasts Shipka’s Sabrina in “a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft.” Based on Aguirre-Sacasa’s Archie Comics title of the same name, the program will also feature Ross Lynch as Sabrina’s potential love interest Harvey Krinkle, with Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis as Sabrina’s aunts Zelda and Hilda, Doctor Who‘s Michelle Gomez as Sabrina’s mentor Mary Wardell, Chance Perdomo as Sabrina’s British cousin Ambrose, Tati Gabrielle as rival Prudence, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind Walker and Bronson Pinchot as nefarious Baxter High principle George Hawthorne.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina debuts on October 26th.
