The First Ever Live Action Pokemon Movie Is Coming In The Spirit Of Detective Pikachu

The Pokemon World Championships brought lots of excitement, but did you expect it to bring a movie announcement? I certainly did not! Especially, a live-action one. However, here we are!
Mr. Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of The Pokémon Company, welcomed the movie’s director, Rob Letterman, and actors Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton to the stage for a surprise reveal. Boy, was it a surprise.  Yes, the first live-action Pokemon movie will be…Detective Pikachu. 

Are you as shocked as I am? The game didn’t really do it for me, so I am a little scared about what the movie will be like. With that said, the actors were quite excited…as they should be!

Detective Pikachu will release May 10, 2019.
