Tom King Will Celebrate Heroes In Crisis #1 Release In Philadelphia

by Hannah Means Shannon

Tom King, writer of Batman, Mr. Miracle, The Vision, and more will be appearing at Fat Jack’s Comicrypt this coming week on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm to sign the upcoming release of Heroes in Crisis #1 from DC Comics.

This new series asks: “How does a superhero handle PTSD? Welcome to Sanctuary, an ultra-secret hospital for superheroes who’ve been traumatized by crime-fighting and cosmic combat. But something goes inexplicably wrong when many patients wind up dead.”
King also wrote Action Comics #1000 and Fat Jack’s will have all the covers on hand for sale in addition to being well stocked on Batman and other best-selling collections.

Mike Ferrero, owner of Fat Jack’s Comicrypt says:

We’ve been very fortunate at the store, as we’ve hosted many great creators over the years for signings including Neil Gaiman, Alex Ross, Neal Adams, Bill Willingham, Charles Soule and many more.  One of the first creators who signed at Fat Jack’s was the late, great Marshall Rogers.  We are honored to have someone of Tom King’s stature at our store to meet our loyal fans.

Fat Jack’s Comicrypt is one of the nation’s oldest comic shops still in operation, running for 42 years, having first opened June 1976.
To meet King and to have your comics signed, a purchase of Heroes in Crisis is required at Fat Jack’s. All comics and graphic novels purchased at Fat Jack’s will be signed free.  Any titles not purchased at Fat Jack’s will be limited to the first two copies free and a nominal fee for additional copies signed.
As a special treat for fans, for the first time ever, select pages from Crisis On Infinite Earths #8 original art by George Perez and Jerry Ordway (written by Marv Wolfman) will also be on display during the signing, art which has never been on public display before.

Fat Jack’s  invites all to enter a free drawing (no purchase necessary) to win a set of Heroes in Crisis #1 rare variant incentive covers (multiple sets available).  Email your name, address & phone number to in order to participate.
