NYCC 2018: A Visit To Fraser’s Ridge From Outlander, Hosted By Starz

Starz brought two of their shows to the fore for New York Comic Con 2018 booth experiences, including American Gods, and Outlander. For Outlander, they had set up an entire cabin decorated in the style of Fraser’s Ridge, a location coming up in the new season of the show when Jamie and Claire take on the New World.

All the old-timey mountain accoutrements were present, including a wood-burning stove.

A big feature, however, was an apothecary shop, with a variety of scented oils courtesy of the real company Caswell-Massey, which dates from the 18th century.

A lot of the apothecary gear was meant to reflect Claire’s “wise-woman” status and medical proficiency, including stations that seemed just left behind from her duties.

Last, but not least, was the leatherworking shop where craftsmen impressed customized initials onto luggage tags for fans.
I’d highly recommend the Outlander experience for authentic settings, props, and activities. It’s located outside the convention center alongside the American Gods diner!
