Elseworlds Gives Arrow And Flash The Speeding Bullets Treatment In New Photo
by Erik Amaya
The “Elseworlds” crossover might be the most exciting thing happening to Arrow this season. And if this latest teaser image is to be believed, part of that excitement will be the thrill of seeing stars Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin switch roles.
Either by visiting an alternate Earth or through the machinations of Dr. Dee (Jeremy Davies), The Flash will become Green Arrow and Green Arrow, The Flash. The swap is not unheard of. In one of the early Elseworlds one-shots published by DC Comics, a story posited what would happen if Martha and Thomas Wayne discovered baby Kal-El instead of the Kents. The story, Superman: Speeding Bullets by J.M. DeMatteis and Eduardo Barreto, was one of the first to bare the Elseworlds mark on the cover and set the tone for character-swap storylines to come. And it seems that aspect of Elseworlds will be honored in the December crossover.
And as actor Stephen Amell revealed yesterday, Superman Tyler Hoechlin will appear in a black suit, suggesting a certain even has occurred to a Superman the team encounters in their journey to other realities. At least, we’re assuming we’ll see more than one version of the established characters over the course of the three-night event.
“Elseworlds” begins December 9th on The CW.
