Syfy Offers A Shot Of The 1980s In New Deadly Class Trailer

by Erik Amaya

Syfy has released a new trailer for the upcoming Deadly Class. And if you didn’t know the show was set in the 1980s, this preview — complete with a prominent appearance from New Order’s “Age of Consent” — will set you straight.

Based on the comic book by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, Benjamin Wadsworth stars as Marcus, an awkward outcast full of social anxiety who finds himself accepted to Kings Dominion School of the Deadly Art; a secret private school where the children of mobsters and assassins learn the ins-and-outs of death-dealing. Though conflicted about his place in this new environment, Marcus hopes to keep his center while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties.
The series will also feature Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James, and Michel Duval as other students. Benedict Wong will also appear as the headmaster.
And if the show continues to deploy 80s New Wave like “Age of Consent,” we’ll be all-in for this series.
Deadly Class debuts January 16th on Syfy.
