Hybrids takes viewers under the sea to a terrifying and surreal world of creatures merged with trash. France continues the tradition of producing jaw-dropping animated content for mature audiences. Hybrids has been nominated for an Oscar in 2019’s category for short animated film. If they receive the award, it will be a prize well earned and hopefully open doors for a feature-length production. Hybrids is a world I would gladly visit again–so long as the car-sharks remain at a safe distance.
