Marvel Continues To Tease The War Of The Realms With New Art Adams Cover

by James Ferguson

The War of the Realms is fast approaching and it’s shaping up to be as epic as can be. Marvel Comics is continuing the promotional push for the big event, scheduled to begin in April 2019. First up, the publisher has revealed the cover for the first issue from Arthur Adams.

Marvel has also released a teaser trailer for the event, featuring writer Jason Aaron and editor Will Moss. The War of the Realms will feature artwork from Russell Dauterman and Matthew Wilson. It’s described as the “war to end all wars” and will require the help from every great Marvel hero to save Earth and beyond.

Aaron says:

The story really begins when that war that’s been brewing for years in the pages of Thor explodes here in Midgard. And at that point, it’s bigger than a Thor battle – everyone becomes a part of that battle.

Marvel is comparing The War of the Realms to Secret Wars in terms of size and scope. I guess that can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you felt about that event.
Moss adds:

Even though this story involves a lot of moving pieces and elements from the Thor comics and the Avengers comics, it’s something that everyone can just dive into.

The War of the Realms kicks off in April 2019.
