Have A Look At Netflix’s Ultraman

A trailer for the upcoming Ultraman anime series from Netflix has been released on YouTube. Brought to life in 3D CGI by Production I.G. and Sola Digital Arts, the new Ultraman anime is an adaptation of Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi’s “Ultraman” manga currently published in Shogakukan’s Monthly Hero’s.
Rather than take on the entire fifty year canon of the Ultraman universe as Tsuburaya has set up, the manga is instead a sequel to the original Ultraman show from the late 60’s. The main character of the series is Shinjiro Hayata, son of the first Ultraman, Shin Hayata. Because of Shinjiro’s unique possession of the “Ultraman Factor”, he’s able to wear an armor known as the Ultraman Suit, which resembles the original Giant of Light which saved the Earth from a collection of aliens. Shinjiro works alongside the Science Special Search Party to battle against a new group of evil aliens attacking the Earth.
Directed by Kenji Kamamiya (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed), Ultraman is scheduled to stream worldwide on April 1st, exclusively on Netflix.
