Comics In Conversation: Reel Love Creator Owen Michael Johnson Comes To Birmingham On Brexit Day

by Olly MacNamee

Like a lot of comic book bloggers, you can sometimes be invited to host some pretty good panels, whether at comic cons or in book stores. It’s always a privilege and always great fun. When it’s an event in your own city, that’s even better! So, next Friday, the 29th of March not only marks the day us Brits were supposed to leave/get kicked out of Europe but it also marks the final date of Owen Michael Johnston’s book tour promoting his semi-autobiographical graphic novel Reel Love, hosted by your’s truly in the comfy surroundings of Foyle’s book store (6.30pm – 8.00pm) in the shiny, new(ish) Grand Central train station in Birmingham. It should be a fun, intimate evening and appeal to fans of comics as much as fans of cinema.
For a reminder, you may want to read up on our review of Reel Love ahead of the event here.
Tickets for this free event are available now from here and if you do come you’ll bet able to pick up your own copy and get it signed by the writer/artist himself.
See you there!
