A Lonely Goddess Builds A World In Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Sirens #2 First Look

by James Ferguson

Boom! Studios has shared an early preview of Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Sirens #2, due out in May. The comic is based on the classic TV show and this whole series revolves around stories of mermaids and magic. This issue follows a lonely goddess who creates humans and animals, building a world where she’ll never be alone again. That sounds so tragic and heartbreaking.

Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Sirens #2 is written and illustrated by Chan Chau. Nuwa, the aforementioned goddess is also a shapeshifting snake deity who traveled the world at its creation, back when the earth, trees, and air were shiny and new. Although she had the whole world at her disposal, she was overtaken by loneliness. This is how human life and love began.

Matthew Levine, Editor at Boom! Studios says:

Chan Chau’s lovely storytelling and brilliant art come together in Sirens #2 to tell a tale about how the world came to be. Chau imagines that the human race was born from a goddess’ heartfelt desire for love and companionship, resulting in a story that is sure to delight fans of fantasy, legends, and myths.

Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Sirens #2 will feature a main connecting cover by Cory Godbey and a variant by Chau. It’s set for release on May 8th, 2019.
